Commercial Highrise
This is an eleven-story building that is the cornerstone of the Canton, Ohio revitalization.
After public bids were received it was over budget and we were approached to review the project.
The design was for the installation of 450 tons of air conditioning. We reviewed the project and found that the actual load or air conditioning was 335 tons.
We proceeded to downsize all HVAC equipment to accurately reflect these savings to the owner. The penthouse, with all of the major equipment as well as the ductwork throughout the project was downsized.
The savings "given" back to the owner were approximately $250,000.00.
In addition, the horsepower requirements of the pumps and air handlers were reduced 100 HP. This included downsizing of air handling fans, chilled water and condenser tower pumps.
This has resulted in savings of over 20% in operating costs by downsizing and having equipment run continuously instead of on/off operation.
